Guitar, violin, banjo, drums, bass and horns combine to bring to mind the psych-folk of Neutral Milk Hotel as well as the casual country-soul of The Band. Culled from the oral short stories of guitarist and novelist Chris Eaton, Are We Not Horses is surefooted in its unique, evocative approach, riding soundly on the back of Eaton's frighteningly emotive vocals and the band's spare-but-hummable melodies. This groundbreaking sci-folk song cycle speaks directly to the questions of essence and existence, but with a back-porch simplicity that leaves us all chanting the band's warm, comforting mantra... "We've Got a Lot to Be Glad For." The album is being repressed for its 20th anniversary with liner notes by Stephen Deusner.

Track Listing

I Am An Excellent Steel Horse
How Shall I To Heaven Aspire?
My Children, Be Joyful
Anthem For The Already Defeated
Fifteen Hands
Are We Not Horses?
When We Go, How We Go (Part 1)
Our Pasts, Like Lighthouses
14/2003
Our Hearts Will Not Trust
When We Go, How We Go (Part II)
We've Got A Lot To Be Glad For

Specifications

Artist: Rock Plaza Central

Album: Are We Not Horses?

Format: LP

Edition: Black Vinyl LP

Label: Record Record Label

Catalogue Number: LPRRL017

Barcode: 634457272606

Genre: Indie & Alternative

Shipping

Please note: This is a pre-order item with a release date of 27.11.26.
